We would like to update our supporters on works being done to improve the stadium and match day experience. The stadium has seen under-investment for some years and with the step up to League 1 with increased crowds it was imperative we improved the facilities.

We have been in discussions with our partners and landlords, Active Stirling, for some months now and are happy to announce we have agreed a programme of works which will see an investment of almost £200k in the stadium, the vast majority of which is coming from Active Stirling.

Some stadium improvement works have already been completed:

  • Both the North and South Terracing had fallen into disrepair, were not fit for purpose and were unsafe. The necessary money has been spent and works have taken place to make the South Terracing operational. It will be open for the Viaplay Cup match against Aberdeen, where we took the decision to give it to the away support given its size. We are pleased to announce that our fans will have access to the South Terracing from the Saturday 26th August match against Kelty Hearts. Discussions are continuing with Active Stirling to bring the North Terracing into operation and we hope to update you further on that soon
  • In the East Stand, extensive works have taken place to install hot water and electrics and create a new food servery so the East Stand can provide full facilities and be utilised properly

More improvement works are planned. Active Stirling have committed investment to:

  • Upgrade existing CCTV systems and provide additional cameras to benefit the safety of all fans on match days
  • Renew all the turnstiles at the ground which includes critical upgrades to the computerised systems linked to the office and control room in the East Stand, which will allow us to monitor the crowd more accurately on match days
  • Install a new tannoy system, which I think everyone would agree will enhance supporters’ match day experience!

We will update you further once we have confirmed timings for these works.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Active Stirling, with whom we have a positive and productive relationship, for working closely with us to deliver these important stadium improvements.

In addition, there have been enhancements behind the scenes.

  • We have reached an agreement with Active Stirling to use the Castle Suite as a supporters’ bar and we are excited to announce we will be able to run this for almost every home fixture, providing an in-stadium bar for fans. Judging by the feedback (and the speed at which the pies and sausage rolls sold out!) this was viewed as a positive development at our first home match against Edinburgh City. We will continue to monitor this operation and make improvements as the season goes on, and we welcome your feedback to do so
  • The offices and the boardroom have been refurbished, with new furniture and an up-to-date look. In making this happen, we would like to thank various sponsor donations along with Kevin Park Decorators, plus volunteers James, Aaron and Karen Thomson, Sue Lauder, Kelly-Marie Wilson and Matt Reid for their time.

We will continue to look at improvement options, work closely with Active Stirling and strive to enhance facilities and the match day experience for fans.
