The spell of cold weather this week obviously raises some concerns about whether this weekend’s scheduled cinch League 1 match against Hamilton Academical (Saturday 20 January 2024) can go ahead.
As many fans will know, we have pitch covers but they are not effective at the low temperatures we are experiencing. They would do more harm than good if put down in the current conditions – especially if laid for a prolonged period – so we are very much at the mercy of the weather.
As a result, we will delay putting the sale of matchday tickets online until we have a clearer picture later in the week.
We are monitoring the situation daily with our partners, Active Stirling, and will keep you up to date with any developments. It will likely be Saturday morning before we are allowed a formal pitch inspection so we would ask all fans to bear with us until we know what is happening.
