Stirling Albion can confirm that striker Lewis Hawke has been released from his contract with immediate effect to allow him to sign for another club.

Lewis joined us from Queen’s Park in the summer, having scored 10 goals for the Spiders in 2018/19. He made 12 appearances for Stirling this season – half of them as a substitute – but had not been involved in the squad since the Scottish Cup tie against Clyde after slipping down the pecking order.

Manager Kevin Rutkiewicz said: “Lewis is a good player and someone I still believe in. It’s just didn’t work out for him here and sometimes that happens in football.

“I would like to thank him for his efforts and his professionalism. We wish Lewis all the very best for the future and I’m sure he will be a success at his next club.”
