We complete our Betfred Cup Group D fixtures against in-form Dunfermline Athletic at East End Park on Saturday, having got our first points on the board against Peterhead last weekend.
Team news: Defenders Darren Barr and Lee Hamilton, and last season’s top scorer Darren Smith remain on the sidelines due to injury. Midfielder Kevin Moon is also set to miss out again.
Past meetings: We drew 1-1 on our last visit to East End Park in a First Division game in March 2015 but haven’t won there since 1992/93 when John Brogan’s team earned a 1-0 victory.
Opponents: Dunfermline thrashed Brechin City 7-1 at Glebe Park on Wednesday, having already beaten Peterhead (3-0) and Dundee (1-0) in Betfred Cup Group D. The Pars need a point to be certain of topping the section. Manager Allan Johnston has this summer brought in Tom Beadling (Sunderland), Louis Longridge (Falkirk), Jackson Longridge (Livingston), Danny Devine (Partick Thistle), Mark Durnan (Dundee United), Joe Thomson (Celtic), Aidan Connolly (York City), James Vincent (Dundee, loan), Faissal El Bakhtaoui (Dundee, loan) and Myles Hippolyte (St Mirren).
Cup format: The eight group winners and four best runners-up will be joined in the last 16 by Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibernian. A reminder that drawn games in the Betfred Cup group stage go straight to penalties, with the winners awarded a bonus point.
