Stirling Albion are delighted to announce that Dale Carrick has signed a contract extension with the club until 2026.

Carrick moved to the Binos in July 2021, coming to the club from Airdrieonians. His debut for the club came in an away win on penalties against Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish League Cup.

Dale netted his first league goal for the club in a thrilling match against Albion Rovers, converting a penalty in the 79th minute to clinch a 2-1 win at Forthbank. In the same season, he marked another milestone by scoring his first hat-trick for the Binos during the season’s final match, leading the team to a resounding 5-0 victory over Edinburgh City.

He also played a pivotal role in the team’s 2022/23 title-winning cinch League Two campaign, scoring 19 goals and assisting 5. This led to him winning Player of the Year, Players’ Player of the Year, and Top Goal scorer.

Overall, he has made 107 appearances for the club, scoring 46 goals, and providing 12 assists.

Commenting on his extension, Carrick shared his thoughts with a blend of commitment and light-hearted humour, saying: “I’m committed to the Binos for another two years, hopefully enough time to work on my penalties!

“My priority is to ensure our place in League 1 for the next season. I appreciate the support from everyone.” Dale added.

Manager Darren Young also commented on the extension after Saturdays game against Falkirk, stating: “Dale has been great since I’ve been here. He’s been someone I’ve admired from afar when I’ve been playing against him, so when he was here when I first signed, I was delighted to have him on board because I knew what he could do.

“Last season, he showed everyone how good a player he is, especially when played through the middle as that striker. Today’s performance shows you what he brings to the team and gives to the team. He is an unselfish player, but if you give him a chance or two, he will take it. We are delighted to get it over the line.”
