We kick off our 2019/20 Ladbrokes League 2 campaign with a home game against Queen’s Park on Saturday, kick-off 3.00pm.

Kevin Rutkiewicz: “It’s very important we do well at home if we want to be successful this season but it will be a very difficult game against Queen’s Park. They are a team who are always full of energy and had some good results in the Betfred Cup.”

Team news: Left-back James Creaney missed all four Betfred Cup ties and is likely to be absent for another fortnight. Central defender Jordan McGregor is set to miss out after suffering a knee injury in our 2-1 defeat at Alloa 10 days ago.

Queen’s Park: Mark Roberts’ side finished seventh in League 2 last season. They have made a solid start to 2019/20, drawing with Clyde, Hamilton Accies and Airdrie in the Betfred Cup. The Spiders have lost several players, including Lewis Hawke and Josh Peters to Stirling and Jamie McKernon to Stenhousemuir. They have brought in Cameron Clark (Livingston), Salim Kouider-Aissa (Kilsyth Rangers), Tommy Block (Hibernian, loan), Jack Purdue (Morton), Nicky Jamieson (Largs Thistle), Creag Little (Largs Thistle), David Crawford (unattached), Alfredo Agyeman (Motherwell), Willie Muir (East Kilbride) and Joffrey Lidouren (Bastia-Borgo).

Past meetings: There were three games between the teams at Forthbank last season. We won the first 1-0 in September thanks to a Ross McGeachie header then lost 2-1 in the Scottish Cup a month later. Queen’s Park dominated the January fixture but had to settle for a 1-1 draw. Both Hampden clashes in 2018/19 also ended all square.
