Stirling Albion return to Ladbrokes League 2 business on Saturday when Elgin City are the visitors to Forthbank as we aim to get our first points on the board.

Kevin Rutkiewicz: “We can’t shy away from the importance of this game because we need to start picking up points. We created plenty chances against St Mirren Colts last week but we didn’t take them and we let ourselves down badly with the result.”

Team news: Defender Paul McLean and midfielder Kevin Nicoll are both suspended while Gareth Rodger and Fraser Scott are injured. Ross McGeachie, David Wilson, Darryl Duffy and Paul Willis were all sidelined last weekend but at least some of them should be back to face Elgin.

Elgin City: The Moray men are seventh in the table, with six points from five games. They have drawn both away matches in League 2 and on Sunday dumped Dundee out of the Caramel Wafer Cup with a 2-1 win at Dens Park. City striker Shane Sutherland is leading scorer in League 2, with five goals so far.

Past meetings: Elgin were 3-0 winners at Borough Briggs in the Betfred Cup in July. Our last league win was against City at Forthbank – 2-1 on April 6 – and we won the other home game last season 5-2 after coming from two goals down. Elgin triumphed 3-2 at Borough Briggs in January.
