We play our second match in Betfred Cup Group D on Tuesday evening when Brechin City are the visitors to Forthbank, kick-off 7.45pm.
Team news: Full-back Jordan Allan is available after missing the Dundee game through suspension and on-loan Dundee keeper Calum Ferrie could also be added to the squad but defender Darren Barr and forward Darren Smith remain sidelined through injury.
Past meetings: This is the third season in a row the teams have met in the group stage of the Betfred Cup. We lost 2-1 at Glebe Park two years ago but won 2-0 at Forthbank 12 months ago.
Opponents: Brechin kicked off their Betfred Cup Group D campaign with a 0-0 draw against Peterhead at Glebe Park on Saturday but it was the Blue Toon who picked up the bonus point for winning the shoot-out. Darren Dods has brought in several new players as City look to mount a League 1 promotion push, including Sean Burns (Queen’s Park), Dougie Hill (Dumbarton), Conor Brennan (Morton), Dene Shields (Xewkija Tigers), Jordan Tapping (East Stirlingshire) and Giuliano Morena (AS Cervia).
Cup format: The eight group winners and four best runners-up will be joined in the last 16 by Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers and Hibernian. Drawn games in the group stage go straight to penalties, with the winners awarded a bonus point.
