Stirling Albion is thrilled to announce the signing of 17-year-old attacking midfielder Rudi Molotnikov from Hibernian for the remainder of the season.

Molotnikov, who signed a two-year contract with Hibernian in July 2022, quickly made a name for himself, ascending to the first team by July 2023 and marking his professional debut in a Europa Conference League match against Aston Villa at Villa Park. He has also featured in three Scottish Premiership games, facing off against Motherwell, Celtic, and Aberdeen.

On the international scene, Molotnikov played a key role in helping Scotland’s U-17 team secure a spot in the 2023 UEFA European U-17 Championship.

Manager Darren Young expressed his enthusiasm about Molotnikov’s versatility and potential impact on the team, saying: “Rudi can play off the side, he can play off the front, midfield, attacking midfielder, he can play a couple of positions. It’s a player that we spoke about at the start of the season but never happened.

“It’s someone who is going to add to the squad. And again, he’s direct, and we’re hoping he will create, and he’s going to give us goals, and he gets his opportunity.”

Young also highlighted the benefits of the young talent learning from the experienced players in the squad: “He’s a young boy, he’s starting out in the game, but there’s a lot of experienced guys here who he can learn off of and kick on from there, go back to Hibs and do well.”
