Goals: Stirling – Roberts 62’ Carrick (P) 79’, Albion RoversReilly 75’

Jack Leitch captained the Stirling side in place of Ross McGeachie who was unavailable for selection.  Nathan Flanagan and Dylan Mackin joined him up top in the attack.

The first half started off choppy, with four fouls in the first ten minutes. There were a few shots on goal from both teams and Ciaran Summers even hit the bar in the 41st minute.

After a slow first half, the Binos came out of the halftime break looking to improve upon the lacklustre first half performance.

The Binos came close in the 58th minute after Leitch’s effort on goal went wide right.  Four minutes later, Kurtis Roberts left footed effort found the back of the net, giving his club a 1-0 lead.

However, the lead did not last long as Rovers equalised in the 75th minute after Charlie Reilly scored.

But once again, the scoreline did not remain stagnant for long as three minutes later Rovers conceded a penalty and Dale Carrick stepped up to the spot for the Binos. The 27 year old had nerves of steel as he coolly converted the penalty.

Stirling Albion had a 2-1 lead with about 10 minutes to go in the match.  At this point, both teams made substitutions as Rovers made a last ditch effort to salvage some points.

Up next for the Binos, is a trip to Montrose as they take on Montrose FC in the Scottish Challenge Cup. For now, the Stirling club sit fourth in the league table and will take on Forfar in their next league match.
