Title favourites Kelty Hearts ran out comfortable winners at Forthbank as we failed to build on our opening-day triumph at Stenhousemuir.

The visitors dictated much of the game and lead the early cinch League 2 table along with Forfar Athletic after making it two wins out of two.

Albion were without the suspended Dylan Mackin and injured Jack Leitch while Kelty had to do without striker Nathan Austin.

Kevin Thomson’s side enjoyed a lot of the ball and scored twice in two minutes late in the first half to take control of the game.

Former Dundee defender Jordon Forster headed in a Joe Cardle corner from six yards then Cardle latched on to a superb pass from Jamie Barjonas to knock the ball past Blair Currie.

Kallum Higginbotham lashed a 20-yard free-kick into the corner 11 minutes after half-time to end any hopes of a comeback.

We did get a goal back when Forster headed a Nathan Flanagan free-kick into his own net in 67 minutes but the outcome was never really in doubt.

Next up for the Binos is an away double header against Annan Athletic on Saturday and Stranraer the following weekend before we host Albion Rovers at the end of the month.
