Our U16 squad faced Celtic in their opening CAS Cup match at Lennoxtown recently. Robbie Weir had us 1-0 ahead at half-time, before Celtic scored three quick goals at the start of the second half to seize control of the game.

After falling behind, we went on to play the best football of the match and claimed a further consolation through Patrick Ramage but couldn’t pull level. Celtic triumphed 3-2, in what was an encouraging performance for Jamie Baxter and Marc Pincombe’s side.

Our U18 side continued their preparations for competitive action with an away friendly against a Dundee United select. Shaun Conlon and Aurelien Mazel’s youngsters showed more of the fine form displayed earlier in the season with a comfortable 5-0 victory with goals from Lewis Young (2), Martin France, Ciaran Nicol and Sandy Carey.

The U16s’ CAS Cup campaign continues against Greenock Morton at home on Sunday 9th February, with the U18s facing Montrose at home on the same date.
