Stirling Albion have welcomed a new group of players to the youth academy. This group were all born in 2007 and will join the newly formed U16 team. The youngsters visited Forthbank on a cold Tuesday evening and stuck around for some photos and interviews.

The players were accompanied by their parents and siblings before they had to carry on with training later on that evening.

One of the players we spoke to was midfielder Matthew Nicholas.

I think you can expect me to try my best whenever I can and hopefully please them (the club).” said Matthew.

Callan Fleming also gave us a rundown of his style of play.

I am a midfielder and I like to attack. You can expect a couple goals and assists from me.

We also spoke to Jacob Moynes, former Motherwell, Partick Thistle and Hamilton Accies academy player.

I expect to get to first team level, I will try my best.

This is my first time seeing the stadium and it is unreal.

Jack Brown also gave a few comments.

I am more of a passer and I am more technical I would say.

The youngsters will certainly be looking to make their mark at the club as they start their new journey. Many of them seemed enthusiastic and excited to get started.

Niall Marshall and his staff will be hoping to turn some of them into future first team players as they get to work.
