Stirling Albion are delighted to announce that midfielder Dom Docherty and defender Jordan McGregor have signed new deals for next season.

Skipper Ross McGeachie, midfielder Danny Jardine and defenders Kyle Banner and Cammy Thomson are already under contract for 2019/20.

Dom, 21, was previously with Partick Thistle and Queen’s Park – he joined us last summer and was a mainstay of the team, weighing in with five goals from the middle of the park.

Jordan, 22, moved to Forthbank in January after leaving Aberdeen and can also count Hamilton Accies and Airdrie among his former clubs.

Binos boss Kevin Rutkiewicz said: “I’m delighted to get Dom and Jordan signed up for next season and I hope to have more signing news we can share with the supporters in the near future.

“Dom was asked to carry the central midfield role for most of the season and I thought he did really well, especially when you consider his age. If we can get more experience around him I’m sure he will blossom – I’m hoping his highest standard last year will be his lowest standard this year.

“He was desperate to stay at Stirling and we need that type of player. He is humble and works hard – he wants to do well and I see this as a very good signing.

“Jordan has made a difference to the team with his physical presence and aggression and I think you saw that in the games against Annan and Peterhead towards the end of the season. With a pre-season behind him, Jordan will only get better and he also has the right character.

“He likes to defend but can pass the ball reasonably well. He reminds me a bit of myself at that stage of my career and hopefully I can help accelerate his development here.”
