We are delighted to announce that midfielder Kurtis Roberts is our fourth new signing of the summer.

The 25-year-old former Queen’s Park player joins us from Airdrieonians, having made 21 League One appearances as the Diamonds finished third in the table in 2019/20.

Manager Kevin Rutkiewicz said: “I’m really pleased that Kurtis is joining us. Central midfield is an area we had to strengthen after Kevin Nicoll left. He is not a direct replacement but Kurtis is someone who plays with a lot of desire and covers a huge amount of ground.

“He is someone I spoke to last year as well but he got the chance to move up a league with Airdrie. Kurtis is a bit different from what we have in the squad – he has some similarities to Andy Black, who the fans will remember, and is also capable of popping up with a goal now and again.

“We have 16 first-team players signed up for next season and I feel we are in a good place. We are still looking to add a couple more but the work we have done so far means we have time to take stock and assess our options.”

Chairman Stuart Brown added: “I’m absolutely delighted with the latest addition to our squad for season 20/21. Last season with Airdrieonians, Kurtis established himself as one of SPFL1’s most exciting and dynamic midfielders and I know that his release came as a surprise and a disappointment to most of their supporters.

“Kurtis, along with Andy Ryan, Kieran Moore and Declan Byrne, lay testament to the unseen graft behind the scenes, by Kevin and his backroom team, to add further quality to the players retained from last season.

“Things are really taking shape… roll on the return of football!”
