Today’s match provides a welcome diversion from league duty, especially given our last three bitterly disappointing results. No one at the Club is seeking to make excuses; we simply need to get back to winning ways, starting this afternoon! Aside from the confidence boost that a win will provide, in common with every lower (or non) SPFL Club, the Scottish Cup offers the potential for dramatically positively impacting on finances, for those fortunate enough to reach the 4th Round.

There’s no doubt that Tranent’s Management Committee will be harbouring exactly the same thoughts, with the added incentive of “taking the scalp” of a Club two leagues above them in the pyramid. In welcoming everyone representing Tranent Juniors to Forthbank Stadium, including I’ve no doubt a sizeable, vocal travelling support, please be assured that the warmth of that welcome will cease when on-field hostilities commence at 3:00 p.m. !

The East (Away) Stand will house Tranent supporters and our 1945 Crew will be situated in the same section of the West (Home) Stand as they were for last weekend’s league match. By all accounts the Crew were well received and well-behaved at the Morrison’s End – long may that continue! I appreciate sitting down isn’t their preferred stance but they aren’t being treated any differently in that respect, given the law in place regarding standing in seated areas within football stadia!

Many of you will recall our participation in previous years with the SPFL Trust’s Festive Friends and I’m delighted to confirm that Stirling Albion has signed up again this year. We will be delivering 60 Christmas Hampers, with the support of Start Up Stirling, in and around Stirling and its surrounding communities. Please contact the Club on community@stirlingalbionfc.co.uk if you would like to nominate someone to receive a Hamper, giving reasons as to why.

Finally, the Club Board have taken onboard feedback re holding a face-to-face Meet the Manager / Meet the Board rather than a virtual Zoom event. In order for us to gauge the interest, to inform the size of indoor venue required, please email the Club (office@stirlingalbionfc.co.uk) in the first instance and we’ll take it from there.

C’mon The Binos!
