The Club Board are very sad to announce the passing of Douglas Clark at the age of age 84.

Douglas passed away peacefully and is survived by his loving wife Lilian and his daughter Nicola.

He was a Stirling Albion supporter all of his life – but he did more than just support the Club. He served as a Commercial Executive for many, many years. Always happy to lend a hand and was known fondly as a complete gentleman who would do anything to help the Club. He even went so far as to be one of the donors who helped the fans buy the Club once Peter McKenzie ended his tenure. He was a founding member of the “Bridge of Allan Supporters”. He and his wife, Lillian were regular player sponsors and their devotion to the Binos was always beyond question. However – football was not his biggest love – that was tennis.

Douglas was a tennis player at Bridge of Allan Sports Club for more than 50 years. As far as we are aware he was the longest serving member of Bridge of Allan Sports Club, joining in the late 50s, serving as Club Secretary in the 1960s and then later going on to serve as President. He had, and still has, a massive amount of friends at the club that remained his friends all of his life.

It was that love of tennis that caused him to meet his lovely wife, Lilian. They used to enjoy dances on a Saturday night at the Golden Lion Hotel and sharing their joint interests. They eventually got married in Alloa and had their daughter, of whom Douglas was very proud.

Douglas – you were a scholar and a gent and you will be missed.

We would like to send our best wishes to his wife and daughter at this sad time.

Edit 5th August 2022: Douglas’ Funeral will be held on Wed 17th August at 11am in Lecropt Kirk Parish Church, Bridge of Allan.
