Stirling Albion have agreed to let Gareth Rodger leave the club to allow him the opportunity to get game time elsewhere, having now returned to fitness following his operation.

The former St Johnstone defender joined us from Edinburgh City in the summer but a knee injury early in the season saw him ruled out of action.

Chairman Stuart Brown said: “Gareth has been the model professional during his time at Forthbank, including his dedication to regaining fitness following his injury and subsequent operation.

“However, with no guarantee of game time at present, we have agreed to cancel his registration with immediate effect, to allow him to sign elsewhere as soon as possible during the transfer window. Gareth goes with our very best wishes for the future.”
