Programme notes for Saturday’s game against Cowdenbeath

Today heralds our last scheduled home league match of the calendar year and I doubt anyone will be disappointed to see the back of 2020. A year that has seen the world we live in change beyond anyone’s comprehension and one that will undoubtedly never be the same again.

I extend a very warm welcome to everyone representing Cowdenbeath FC, with an assurance that we have done everything possible to make their visit Covid-safe, if not as “luxurious” as it would be in “normal” times!

An equally warm welcome to our Live Streamers who are reading this sitting at home tuned into Ben McAdam’s SATV.  Forthbank is the poorer – in every sense of the word! – without fans and the sooner we can welcome you back the better. However, although Tier 4 restrictions are scheduled to have been lifted from Friday 11th, I suspect we are still some way off seeing the return of Sue & Kelly back behind Turnstiles 1 & 2! However, please be assured we will be ready to welcome fans back as soon as it is safe to do so.

The good news on the playing front is that Dylan Bikey is ahead of schedule with his rehabilitation and, all things being equal, I anticipate he will be available for selection early in the New Year. The Scottish Cup match on Boxing Day is a possibility but we won’t be rushing him back for the sake of a week or two.

Away from the football, we’re in for an extremely busy period with our preparations for Festive Friends well underway, the 75th Anniversary Book due for delivery and a virtual Meet the Manager & Board on Sunday 13th. Please see Colin’s “Outside the Box” for the details!

I’ve also recently issued a Festive Message with some more news so, to avoid repetition, please head for the Official Website – www.stirlingalbionfc.co.uk/festive-message-from-the-chairman/

In the event we are drawn away from home in the Scottish Cup, this will be the last matchday programme of 2020.That being the case, and albeit a bit early, I extend my warmest wishes for 2021 to everyone associated with Stirling Albion Football Club – our sponsors, my fellow Board members, the Supporters Trust Board, management, coaches, players, YD staff, coaches and players, our SA Foundation Board in waiting, everyone involved with the Junior Academy, Ben McAdam, videographer extraordinaire, everyone else who assists with volunteering across the myriad of roles and last, but far from least, our long-suffering, currently exiled, supporters… haste ye back in 2021.
