A happy & prosperous New Year to Binos everywhere and a warm welcome to everyone representing our First Footers, Cove Rangers, for our first home fixture of 2020.

The good news is that we finished 2019 and started 2020 with back to back away wins against Stenhousemuir and Albion Rovers respectively, scoring 5 goals, including a first UK hat trick for Darryl Duffy, and Cammy Binnie, standing in for the injured Blair Currie, conceding none. The bad news is, at the time of writing (Tuesday a.m.), we don’t have a fit Goalkeeper with Cammy having joined Blair on the side-lines and likely to be out for a month, possibly longer. We’ve had a torrid time with injuries so far this season and having both our goalkeepers out injured is the polar opposite of the icing on the cake. Kevin will undoubtedly have resolved our goalkeeping crisis before you read this article!

The end of 2019 saw Head of our Youth Development (Coaching), Mark Wood, step down after nearly 5 years in post. Mark is the Club’s Guest of Honour at today’s match in recognition of his unstinting service to SAFC Youth Development and will be joined by his coaches, former long serving Head of Youth (Administration), Stewart Taylor and also his replacement, Niall Marshall, who started work on Monday of this week. Thank you, Mark and my best wishes for whatever the future holds and welcome Niall. Some background on Niall’s appointment can be found on the Official Website but a snippet for Binos Fans is that one of his best friends is Albion legend, defender Andy Graham!

Whilst, on the back of our two wins, we’ve climbed the table to a season high of fifth, there’s still much work to be done. The part you the supporters have played (witnessed most recently by the tremendous backing at Ochilview and Cliftonhill, both numerically and vocally) and can continue to play as we move forward, cannot be underestimated.

Thank you on behalf of the Club Board, Kevin, his Backroom Staff and the Players!

C’mon the Binos!
