Stirling Albion are delighted to announce that club captain Ross McGeachie, defender Paul McLean, goalkeeper Blair Currie, midfielder Kurtis Roberts and winger Kieran Moore have all agreed contract extensions.

Ross is a club stalwart who made his debut as a teenager against Albion Rovers nine years ago this week, while Paul has been a key figure in the defence since signing from Brechin City in 2019.

Blair joined from Clyde two years ago and has shown his quality in goal despite a couple of spells out injured while Kurtis was snapped up from Airdrieonians last summer and was a regular in the middle of the park in 2020/21.

Kieran is a winger who was previously with Queen’s Park and featured in the majority of matches last season, scoring his first goal against Brechin in March.

This takes the total number of players contracted for next season to nine, with top scorer Andy Ryan, midfielder Jack Leitch, and defenders Jordan McGregor and Kyle Banner already confirmed for 2021/22.

It was announced on Saturday that goalkeeper Cammy Binnie, midfielder Dom Docherty and winger Scott Roberts will be leaving the club this summer.

Binos boss Kevin Rutkiewicz said: “I would like to start by putting on record my appreciation and thanks to all the players for their efforts this season. For those who are leaving, I wish them the best of luck on their footballing journeys. Each decision was extremely hard and made after long consideration and conversations among the coaching staff.

“The other side of football is that new players will arrive and hopefully they will bring an excitement and freshness to help with our assault on the league next year.

“To add to the players we re-signed a couple of months back, I am delighted the five above have committed to the club. The nucleus is strong, and our job is to continually add quality to the mix. The boys are already raring to go and we look forward to having you back in the stadium.”
