Stirling Albion head for the capital on Saturday to take on Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park as we seek our first points of the season in Ladbrokes League 2.

Team news: Darren Barr and Darren Smith are both making progress in their recovery from injury but will again miss out. The game also comes too soon for Kevin Moon and Jason Marr is struggling with a thigh injury.

Past meetings: We were unbeaten in the four meetings last season, winning 2-0 at Forthbank in August and 2-1 at Ainslie Park in November before a pair of 2-2 draws home and away in March. City won both home games at Meadowbank Stadium in 2016/17 but have since moved in with Spartans.

Opponents: Edinburgh City beat Albion Rovers 4-0 on the opening day and defeated John Brogan’s team again in the IRN-BRU Cup in midweek to set up a second-round tie at East Kilbride. James McDonaugh’s men lost 1-0 at Elgin last weekend. Their summer signings include former Binos Andy Black, Blair Henderson and Scott Shepherd, who left Falkirk earlier this month.

Stadium: Ainslie Park is located on Pilton Drive, just off Ferry Road and close to the Morrison’s supermarket. Bus No 27 from the city centre – the foot of The Mound or Hanover Street – stops a short walk from the ground.
