Stirling were denied a second successive victory as an injury-time equaliser earned Clyde a point in the rain at Broadwood.

Danny Jardine’s second goal of the season looked like it would be enough but defender Dylan Cogill lashed home the equaliser in the first minute of added time.

It was a sore one to take for Kevin Rutkiewicz’s team and the 170-strong travelling support, who saw the Binos produce another impressive performance on the back of the 3-0 win over Berwick.

There was one change to the starting XI, with Darren Barr replacing the injured Kevin Moon in a midfield holding role. Calum Ferrie, Mark Stewart and Lee Hamilton were again ruled out through injury but Peter MacDonald returned as a late substitute after more than a month out.

Clyde, who beat Edinburgh City last week, had more of the ball in the early stages but Danny Lennon’s men didn’t create much and we were denied the opening goal in 13 minutes. Jardine headed in a Jordan Allan cross but the celebrations were cut short when it was disallowed, apparently for a foul by striker Dylan Mackin.

In a tight first half, the home side almost went ahead in 37 minutes when a dangerous ball in from the right flank was met by Cogill but he hit the post and Chris McStay sent the rebound wide.

Cammy Binnie made a good stop from a John Rankin free-kick before we went ahead in 56 minutes. Neil McLaughlin and Michael McIndoe combined on the left to set up Mackin – he forced a fine save from keeper Blair Currie but Jardine reacted quickly to turn the ball into the net.

Goalmouth action was at a premium after that – we kept David Goodwillie quiet and were on course to gain revenge for a 3-0 defeat to Clyde in August – but when a free-kick was played into the box in the 91st-minute the ball broke for Cogill and the ex-Huddersfield man smashed it past Binnie.
