With much regret Stirling Albion announce that they have agreed to release Kevin Moon from his contract with immediate effect.
Chairman Stuart Brown commented: “Everyone at the club is devastated for Kevin that, despite his best efforts, he’s not been able to regain match fitness.
“Despite his lack of playing time, Kevin has contributed enormously, having helped Andy Todd with the Reserve Team and simply by attending and encouraging his colleagues at every match, home and away. His ever-present smile and positive attitude will be much missed and I wish him every success with whatever the future holds.”
Manager Kevin Rutkiewicz had this personal message for Kevin: “After fighting long and hard to get back to match fitness Kevin Moon has conceded that it may not be achievable.
“I would like to put on record my thanks to Moona for his commitment and desire to help our cause here but unfortunately it’s not to be. I’ve known Moona for a long time and it hurts to lose a player of that quality but a double whammy when it’s a friend.
“I wish Kevin all the very best in his future endeavours and of course an open-door policy to visiting us anytime he wants.”
