It’s Scottish Cup action this weekend as we head for Shielfield to play Berwick Rangers in the second round of the competition.

We beat the Borderers 3-0 at this stage last season before losing to Raith Rovers while in 2019/20 we beat Strathspey Thistle 2-0 before losing by the same score to Clyde.

Berwick, who are managed by Stuart Malcolm, beat Gretna 2-1 in round one of this season’s competition and are sitting seventh in the Lowland League table.

The Binos head south on the back of a seven-match unbeaten run, with our last match a 1-1 draw against Stranraer and our next fixture away to leaders Kelty Hearts on October 30.

Defender Paul McLean remains out and skipper Ross McGeachie and midfielder Ray Grant were also sidelined last weekend.

Admission is £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and free for U12s.

The referee for Saturday’s game is Mike Roncone.

If the match ends in a draw, the replay will take place at Forthbank on Tuesday November 2.

There will be a minute’s applause before the game in memory of long-standing Berwick supporter and club volunteer David Spence, who sadly died this week. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone connected with Berwick Rangers.

The draw for the third round will be made on Sunday at 5.15pm, with ties scheduled for November 27.
