The club were saddened to hear of the passing of ex-player Andy Graham this week. Andy was a great servant to the club, playing 222 games in two spells from 1982 to 1991. He started his career with Dundee United before moving to Annfield on a loan spell that soon became a permanent move.

The ‘Ghost’ as he was known, was popular with fans and players alike. We’ve been inundated with condolences and reminiscences from those who knew Andy and valued him as a friend or colleague, either on the football field or the golf course. John Brogan, Vinnie Moore, David Lloyd, Robert Reilly, Mark McGeown, Bobby MConville, Gerry McTeague, Charlie Gibson, Dougie Lawrie, Robert Philliben and others have all passed on their thoughts and sympathies. Each of them spoke warmly about Andy’s humour and character and how much he influenced the younger players in the team.

It was perhaps best summed up by ex-player Stephen Tennent who said,  “This is absolutely tragic. I’ve spoken already to a few of the old team and we can’t believe it. Andy was a central figure for us. Please send our deepest condolences to his family and let them know just how much Andy meant to us all.

He was a tremendous player and the most valued team mate”.
