This fine body of men, resplendent in their Albion strips, were one of four local teams who last month took part in a Walking Football competition in Portugal, where games were played in temperatures of 28C!

Led by their captain Mark Tilley, the team finished in a very creditable third place in the over-50 category. The other three teams were also successful, with a third place and a Plate trophy in the over 60-category achieved while one of their goalies, Arthur Duncan, won the MPV award.

Walking Football is a slower version of The Beautiful Game and everyone, primarily over 50 and irrespective of ability, is welcome to come along and give it a try. In addition to keeping fit, friendships and camaraderie are quickly established.

Regular sessions take place in Stirling, Alloa and Stenhousemuir. Details and further information can be obtained at walkingfootballforthvalley.co.uk
