Stranraer away on Saturday

We make the long trip down the A77 to play League 1 Stranraer in a pre-season friendly on Saturday.

It will be our first visit to Stair Park since a 1-0 defeat in January 2015 and comes on the back of a 2-0 victory over East Kilbride at K-Park on Wednesday.

Trialist Jason Marr scored both goals and Dave Mackay could have another look at the former Alloa defender this weekend. Darren Barr and Darren Smith are both sidelined due to injury.

Stranraer have brought in 10 new players this summer, including former Binos Adam Cummins, Mark Lamont and Isaac Layne. Stevie Farrell’s side lost 3-1 at home to Ayr in midweek but recently beat Cumbernauld Colts 5-0 and Annan 4-2 on their travels.

Binos boss Mackay said: “Stranraer have signed some good players so this well be a test for us. It wasn’t a great performance in midweek but we looked fairly solid defensively. Mark Stewart was feeling a bit tight in his groin which is why we took him off but it’s nothing serious.”

Kick-off is 3.00pm and admission is £5, with free entry for primary school children.
