East Kilbride match preview

Stirling Albion play East Kilbride at K-Park Training Academy on Wednesday, kick-off 7.45pm, in our third pre-season friendly.

Dave Mackay’s men drew 1-1 with Airdrieonians last Tuesday then won 2-0 at Dalbeattie Star on Saturday. Lowland League runners-up Kilby, now managed by Brian Kerr following the departure of Billy Stark, are our next opponents and we then travel to Stranraer this weekend.

Defender Darren Barr will again miss out and is facing at least a month on the sidelines due to a knee injury that requires a minor tidy-up operation, which is hoped will happen this week. Last season’s top scorer Darren Smith is also ruled out as he is still struggling with a back problem.

Binos boss Mackay has confirmed that he won’t be taking his interest in trialist Jacob Borg any further but hopes to have another look at former Alloa defender Jason Marr, who missed out at the weekend due to his brother’s wedding.

East Kilbride’s most recent friendly was on Saturday when they lost 3-1 at home to Dumbarton and they host our Betfred Cup opponents Dundee this weekend.

K-Park has an artificial surface and is situated within Calderglen Country Park. Admission to the game is £6 for adults and £3 concessions.
