Stirling Albion travel to Balmoor to face in-form Peterhead on Saturday on the back of a good 2-0 victory over Berwick Rangers at Forthbank last weekend.
The Blue Toon are on a run of 11 wins in their last 12 matches and Jim McInally was this week named Ladbrokes League 2 Manager of the Month for December.
Team news: On-loan Hearts winger Callumn Morrison has returned to Tynecastle, although an ankle injury would have kept him out in any case. Binos boss Dave Mackay is looking to add a goalkeeper to his squad after on-loan Mark Foden went back to Ross County. Steven Noble, Sean Dickson, Liam Caddis and Andy Little all miss out but on-loan St Johnstone defender Cammy Thomson is available.
Previous meetings: Peterhead won 1-0 at Forthbank in a midweek match in early December when Rory McAllister scored the only goal but we won 4-2 at Balmoor in August thanks to a superb first-half performance that saw us net four times despite falling behind early on. Prior to this season our last visit to the North East was for a 2-1 defeat in January 2015.
Opponents: Peterhead have moved to within a point of leaders Montrose, with two games in hand, after stringing together six league wins in a row. The title favourites have scored 17 goals in their last three matches, winning 6-2 at Montrose, 7-0 at home to Elgin and 4-1 at Stenhousemuir. Rory McAllister has netted an incredible 19 goals in his last 12 matches in all competitions and has 26 for the season. Jason Brown, Greg Fleming and Willie Gibson have started all 18 matches for Jim McInally’s men in League 2.
