Everyone at Stirling Albion was saddened to learn of the recent passing of one of our most loyal supporters, James Burgess, after a long illness.
James was born in 1937 and went to school in Dunblane before starting work as an apprentice baker in Callander. He went on to become one of the UK’s most respected pastry chefs and worked for many years at One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow before retiring in 2001.
Jimmy, as he was known to his friends, will be hugely missed and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
SAFC Chairman Stuart Brown said: “His devotion to Stirling Albion, his warm personality and, of course, his ubiquitous shopping bag will be sorely missed at Forthbank and the grounds visited by Stirling Albion around the SPFL.”
The funeral will be held at Pollok Baptist Church in Glasgow on Tuesday March 7 at 1.30pm.
