After defeats to East Fife and Clyde we are looking to end the week on a high when we play Annan Athletic in another crucial game at Galabank on Saturday.
Jim Chapman’s team have scored more home goals than anyone else in Ladbrokes League 2 this season but were held 3-3 by Montrose in their last outing at Galabank while we are looking to improve on a return of just one point from nine on our travels in 2016.
Team news: Full-back Kevin McKinlay, central defender Scot Buist and midfielder Craig Comrie all remain on the injury list while Aurelien Mazel is a doubt.
Opponents: Annan are currently fourth in the table, three points ahead of us with a game in hand. Jim Chapman’s side have won six, drawn four and lost just two of their 12 home games in Ladbrokes League 2. They bounced back from a recent midweek defeat at Berwick to beat East Stirlingshire 1-0 at Ochilview on Saturday.
Past meetings: It was 1-1 at Galabank in August when Sean Dickson equalised from the penalty spot after Smart Osadolor had given Annan the lead early in the second half. We had Kevin McKinlay sent off while Peter Watson saw red for the hosts towards the end. Annan were top when they came to Forthbank before Christmas but a 77th-minute goal from sub Phil Johnston earned us a 1-0 win. That remains the only game – league or cup – in which Annan have failed to score this season.
