Stirling Albion make the short journey to Ochilview to play East Stirlingshire on Saturday as we aim to bounce back from our 3-1 home defeat to East Fife on Boxing Day.
Stuart McLaren’s men are fifth in the Ladbrokes League 2 table but trail leaders Annan by just four points as we prepare to get the second half of the season under way this weekend.
Team news: Skipper Ross McMillan remains out with a hamstring injury but striker Craig Beattie is expected to return to the squad after missing the last two games.
Opponents: East Stirlingshire are currently bottom of the table, four points behind Montrose with two games in hand. Their Boxing Day trip to Arbroath was postponed and they were beaten 4-0 by Berwick Rangers in their last home game. However, Craig Tully’s men have generally been strong at Ochilview this season, getting the better of East Fife, Annan, Elgin, Queen’s Park and Montrose.
Past meetings: Our first win of the season was 3-2 against the Shire at Ochilview on September 5, helped by early goals from Sandy Cunningham and Steven Doris. Ross McMillan was also on target, with Nathan Shepherd and Ally Roy replying. It somehow finished 0-0 at Forthbank on October 31 when both teams missed several chances.
