It’s a top-of-the-table clash at Ochilview on Saturday as Stirling Albion face leaders East Stirlingshire.
Greig McDonald’s men go into the game on the back of an excellent 3-0 win at Turriff United in the Scottish Cup while Shire lost 2-0 at home to in-form Raith Rovers on Sunday.
John Coughlin’s team won 2-1 at Annan last Tuesday, the same night we beat Albion Rovers 2-1 at Forthbank, and they enjoy a three-point lead over Albion and Clyde.
Shire were deserved 3-1 winners when the teams met at Forthbank in August – that was their first win in Stirling since August 1985.
Last season’s encounters at Ochilview brought a 3-1 victory for East Stirling in September and a 1-1 draw at New Year. We were reduced to 10 men in both games, with Scott Davidson and Gary Thom red carded.
Saturday’s match comes too soon for former Falkirk forward David Weatherston, who has been out of action since picking up a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Whitehill Welfare at Forthbank in the Scottish Cup on October 5.
