Stirling Albion defender Brian Allison hopes to return to action before the end of the season despite undergoing knee surgery during the summer.
The 25-year-old former Falkirk player, who captained the side last year and scored the winning goal against Rangers at Forthbank in early October, picked up the injury in the 1-0 victory over Berwick Rangers on March 30.
Allison missed the rest of last season and went under the knife in June after the injury turned out to be more serious than it initially appeared.
He said: “People may say that I’m optimistic but I’m hoping to be back well before the end of the season. I’ll push myself as hard as I can and take advice from the physio.
“It’s still just a case of resting up and doing a bit of strengthening work at the moment. I got an infection after the operation so that set me back a little bit but hopefully I can make that time up.”
