Binos boss Greig McDonald admitted East Stirlingshire were well worth their 3-1 win at Forthbank on Saturday – their first victory in Stirling since August 1985.
Goals from Michael Bolochoweckyj, Paul Quinn and Jordan McKechnie had Shire in command and Jordan White’s close-range effort with 12 minutes left came too late.
McDonald said: “We got what we deserved – all credit to East Stirling but I think we gave them three goals, to be honest. We didn’t start to play until we were 3-0 down and that’s not good enough. We lost a battle, when you need to earn the right to play, and we owe our supporters a reaction against Queen’s Park next week.”
East Stirlingshire manager John Coughlin said: “We lost nine goals here the last time but we have made crucial changes, especially at the back, and came here with confidence. It’s a great result for us – I told the players before the game that if we can win at Forthbank then we shouldn’t fear anyone.”
