Having been seen by a consultant at the Murrayfield Hospital in Edinburgh, Brian Allison’s knee injury, sustained against Berwick at the end of March, is unfortunately more serious than we initially thought.
Brian has a suspected tear of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) in his right knee. Once fully confirmed by a scan, Brian will undergo an operation to repair the damage that will hopefully see him back in action again towards the end of this season.
We will update more in due course but it goes without saying that the best wishes of everyone at Stirling Albion FC are with Brian and he will receive the full support of the club and its medical staff in his recovery.
Manager Greig McDonald said: “I’m devastated for Brian as initially we thought the injury may not be too bad. However, the specialist thinks it is the cruciate and therefore it will need to be fixed.
“Losing Brian for most of the season is a huge blow for the team, but I know that with his attitude and professionalism Brian will come back even better and he will continue to be a big voice in our dressing room during his recovery.”
