SAFC Young Reds exists to offer two main strands of support to the football club and local community:

–        1. To act as the official junior supporters club of SAFC and help the club provide and develop a strong and positive community presence by offering a range of membership benefits and opportunities under the SAFC brand which include :

o       Skills Coaching via SFA accredited coaches in the soccer school for members (every Tuesday)

o       Discounted entry to SAFC home games and discounted club merchandise

o       Regular newsletters, personalised birthday and Christmas cards

o       Trips to SAFC away matches

o       Trips to Scotland International matches

o       Opportunities to meet the players of SAFC (e.g. we award a player of the year trophy annually the winner of which is voted for by Young Reds)

2. To offer local children the chance to receive skills coaching and play football in a friendly relaxed environment.  Our emphasis is on fun and developing our members to the best of their ability.

Our soccer school is the entry point to a player pathway at SAFC which can potentially lead to selection for the SAFC Pro Youth initiative from age 14 and hopefully from there to the senior squad.  In 2007 a “graduate” of the Young Reds soccer school was signed by the SAFC under 14s Pro Youth squad.

Young Reds Soccer school meets every Tuesday, 6-7pm, at Forthbank and is open to boys and girls from age 4-14.  Groups are organised in age bands with 2 or more coaches per group.

We also operate 2 teams at under 11s and 12s (currently) in the local development league (FVFDA).  We strongly support the aims of the league.  In particular, that children of all abilities should be given every chance to participate equally and develop their football skills. 

·        Current Young Reds club membership is around 180 active members.

·        Young Reds soccer school has 90 plus active members.

·        Over the last 10 years over 800 children aged 4-16 have been involved in Young Reds.
