Stirling Albion take on Annan Athletic at Forthbank in Ladbrokes League 2 on Saturday in the first of a home double header that sees us host Clyde in the Scottish Cup next weekend.

Kevin Rutkiewicz: “It was sore to lose so late last week but I think Cove knew they had been in a game. We had been on a good run and want to start another one this weekend.”

Team news: Defenders Jordan Lowdon, Gareth Rodger and Craig Truesdale are all still sidelined, as is joint-top scorer Josh Peters. The game may also come too soon for Dylan Bikey. Midfielder David Wilson is likely to miss out after picking up an injury against Cove.

Stirling Albion: We beat Albion Rovers 3-0 in our last home game a fortnight ago but saw our seven-match unbeaten run ended by Cove Rangers at the Balmoral Stadium last weekend. Mitch Megginson scored the only goal with an 88th-minute penalty.

Annan Athletic: It’s been a good week for Peter Murphy’s men, who beat Cowdenbeath 1-0 on Saturday and Brechin City 5-2 on Tuesday to move into the play-off places. They are eight points ahead of the Binos.

Past meetings: It was 0-0 at Galabank in September when Dylan Mackin missed a penalty. Peter MacDonald’s double earned us a 2-1 win when the sides last met at Forthbank in January.
