Forbes organised an Albion Competition "Team of the Eighties" and the results
were published in the matchday programme in 1991. The competition produced
95 entries, and the total votes cast were 1,205. The most popular player was
John Colquhoun, who was selected by 73% of the entrants. Out of the total of 95

| How do you rate the players Brought into the
club since Drinkell left ? |
| Roy Guthrie - 50/50,
David Urquhart - Players are of a good
enough quality but need time to gel as a team if we are going to get
back to Division One, Colin Wales - Most
of the Motherwell crowd are poor except Brian Martin, you can see he
has class,Chris Woods looks promising, Ally Graham is a good signing
and the jury is still out on Chris Jackson.
Steven Perry - They seemed quality buys at the time but they all
seem to be under achieving a little. Richard
Turnball - Martin and Jackson are quality players, Woods and Gow
look OK, but i'm not to sure about Bell, McCallum, Clark, Donald.
Unknown - They are beggining to improve
but they ain't world class. Frode Solum -
McCallum, Jackson, Graham, Martin, Donald all look good, so it is going
to be a funny season. Kevin Croall - Most
have still to prove themselves. Scott Jackson-
Middle of the range. Graeme Anderson -Top
Quality, but they are underachieved so far. Nik
Shearer- I dont really rate them. Kris
Jozajtis - Some good, some promising/adequate and some
dissapointing. George Morton - Unhappy
about the quality of the older players but I do feel the younger
players must be given a chance, even if it means we stay in Division 2
for two seasons.Chunk - Average.
Robin Bairner - Most are OK and should be
able to help us up into the First Division. |
| What can be done to help the chairman
financially run the club ? |

| Colin Wales - Encourage
local retailers to build up a profile of the club in the town. The
Young Reds is an excellent idea, and as a teacher in a local secondary
scholl, I can testify it is beginning to pay dividents.
Steven Perry - A whipround in the pub.
UnKnown - Bring a friend to all home
matches. Jonathan Savage
- A beetle drive. Kevin Croall
- More people within the club should help Mr McKenzie and we
have to continue to involve more local businesses to get involved.Scott
Jackson - I think it is obvious that the youngsters hold the key
to more gate numbers but I am surprised the town doesn't support the
club in advertising terms, I certainly support the businesses that
support the Albion. My Wife and I try to wotk our way round all the
pubs that appear in the programme. Graeme
Anderson - A wider range of merchandise.
Nik Shearer- Bring in some bigger name players and attract some
support back to the club. Kris Jozajtis -
Most people associated with the club seem to forget that Stirling is a
University town and that as much as 20% of the towns population are
students. Hence, more posters around ( especially at the University ),
and introduce student concessions. Chunk -
More fans at home games. |
