January ends with the Albion going down 1-0 in the Scottish Cup to Clydebank. The Albion's performance on the day is well below par but that should still not be an excuse for some of the comments from a small section of fans directed at our own players. Fellow proper Albion fans are appalled at there so called fellow Binos fans

A week later  we went down 2-0 at home to Partick Thistle. At first read that may be acceptable but Thistle played for over an hour with only ten men after goalkeeper Kevin Budinauckas was sent off. Manager John Philliben locked his players in the home dressing room for 45 minutes after the match,

A month later we lose at home again, this time to Hamilton Accies who beat us 4-1 which was their biggest ever win in Stirling but manger John Philliben was still not throwing in the towel as far as our promotion hopes went

The remaining matches in March were no better after losing against local rivals Alloa 1-0 in a derby match at the Recs, we then go and lose the following week at Forthbank 6-3 to Clyde as John Philliben concedes after the match that our promotion chances are now dead.

March ended just like it had been like for the full month - on a low note when local striker Alex Bone's two month loan deal from Ayr United was terminated one week early.

But things just kept on getting worse on the field when April began where March left off after we were humiliated in Dingwall by Ross County who defeated us 5-1. There was no sign of things improving   when it was announced that we had to play our three remaining league matches of the season with an outfield player in goal after we had no goalkeepers registered to play after an injury to Jason Gardiner with Garry Gow being unable to return from a loan spell with St Johnstone.

As you will have gathered that most of the low points of the year 2000 have come on the field and  thankfully so far in season 2000/01 we have not had as many mishaps on the field as the previous years but the 3-1 defeat at Partick Thistle in September must be included on this page as a confident Thistle comprehensively ran all over us. While our 3-0 defeat at Hampden where we were returning for the first time in ten years on league duty was a game to forget.

Finally this season we have been hit by a series of injuries to about 6/7 players which has meant that we have failed to field our strongest team on many occasions this year. Hopefully when everyone is fit, this page this time next year will not be published
