Most of us have an elderly loved one who needs that little extra support from time to time.

The club feels it’s particularly important that we take a little extra time to celebrate Christmas with those who can feel isolated from the hustle and bustle in their community.

Today, in conjunction with our friends at SPFL Trust and Active Stirling, we hosted our 2nd Festive Friends event at Forthbank Stadium.

Christmas lunch was served to 50 guests from our local care homes by manager, Kevin Rutkiewicz and members of the playing squad – Dylan Nguene Bikey, James Creaney, Danny Jardine and David Wilson.

There was a prize draw raffle, music from our rocking rev, Duncan Strathdee and carol singing from some of the pupils from St Mary’s Primary school.

The whole event was rounded off by a visit from Lomond the Lion from the SPFL Trust and Bino the Bear (with festive beard!).

The entire event was filmed and recorded by the BBC with interviews and soundbites broadcast on BBC Sportsound on 5th December 2019.

A huge thank you to our guests and our volunteers; without them, we simply can’t run these events.
