I began supporting the Albion way back in the sixties. My two big brothers and my sister were Bino diehards and they would take me along to Annfield on the odd occasion.

If memory serves me well, my first match was a Celtic game, but as my memory is fading with the years, I cannot remember the exact date but I was about 5 at the time.

I do remember when St. Mirren came to Annfield and there always seemed to be fighting between the fans.

In the seventies my friends and I would go into Stirling on a Saturday and I would wander up to Annfield at Half-time and get in for free. My pals hated football but soon tagged along when they realised that the place was full of fellas! Happy days.

My favourite team is without a doubt the league winning team a few seasons back. Under Drinkell and Stewart it was really exciting to go along on a Saturday and watch a game.

The sentimental side of me would say Henry Hall has to be my favourite player but that is probably because my brothers brain washed me in the sixties to believe he was God. Recent years I would have to go with Andy Paterson and Willie Watters with Willie having the edge. Now he was GOD!

Best home game was our match against Killie in the cup. Oh what a night! Last weeks match against the Hibees may have been a great game if I had managed to see anything.

Favourite away game was the match at Ibrox when we out sang the Huns. Our pal who is a diehard Rangers fan said we were the best away support from a lower division that he had seen at Ibrox. If only McLeod had squared the ball to Tommy Tait it could have been our field of dreams.

My proudest footballing moment was the Killie game although on a sadder note I felt very emotional at Broadwood when we had the minutes silence after Dunblane. It was a very sad day but I felt proud of everyone at the club in the way they handled a very difficult occasion.

Kevin Drinkell and Ray Stewart jointly get my vote. They worked great together and produced the best Albion team I have seen.

I reckon that Annfield was the best ground. I know there is probably a sentimental reason behind it but there was something about changing ends at half-time. I still miss our barrier at the Infirmary end where I spent many a happy and unhappy afternoon.

I don't think I would be very good as Albion manager after all I am just a burd and what do we wummin ken aboot fitba, didn't you know that we only go along to see all the sexy legs on the park. I am more than proud to work with the Young Reds. It is a dream come true to be able to help the club I love. The young fans are a great bunch and are a credit to the club whenever we take them anywhere.

Finally, I really hope that we manage to pick up league points and after our performance against Hibs last week I hope our confidence is high. Everyone should get behind the team, we have had a really rough time but hurling abuse at them will not help motivate them. Let's hear more singing again, things have been pretty quiet of late.

If I can leave with a bit of a nag (women are supposed to nag so I thought I wouldn't let you down), next time you are at a match and you see lots of young children around you try and mind your language!!! We all like a wee swear word especially at McCurry et al but some of the expletives are way over the top. We have a No Swearing policy in the Young Reds (it doesn't work all the time) so maybe some of the big Reds could help us set an example!

That's my nag for the day!
