Far from my spiritual home of Annfield, (or even Forthbank) I was reflecting of the first game I ever attended to see the Albion. A 3-0 drubbing from Raith Rovers!
My decision to return to Annfield in the following weeks was prompted not by the standard of play, but by a craving for more of the bovril, soggy crisps and cold pies served at half time. The second game saw John Park score a hat trick against Aberdeen and I was smitten. I can't remember all the team but think Jim Brown was in goal, David Brown and McGuinnes the full backs,Rowan, Weir and Johnston at half back, with a forward line which included Kilgannon and Johnnie Lawlor. The red and white scarf was worn with pride and for about 10 years I scarcely missed a home game.
My job took me first to East Lothian and then some 20 years ago to Moray (where I saw Buckie Thistle defeated in the cup). Your web site is a delight.
