Year first supported Stirling Albion - 1968

My mother first took me at age 10. Then went with school friends from Craigs School/then Stirling High till 1974. Even some female supporters then I recall Patricia Mackenzie etc.

Exciting matches but often ended in near success. Remember away games at Dunfermline 1973 late fife equaliser. Rumour was Albion couldnt afford to go up because of guarantees to away teams/money. Certainly seemed to throw away last few games losing 3-4 to a poor Forfar team at home.

Have been back occasionally since 1970s. Watch for results still at age 50. I am now a counsellor and probably could have done with some counselling when watching the Albion in early 1970s. Great fun though and the old ground was great, especially the mavers pies. It is great to see Albion survive despite low crowds. Hats off to all who help.

Finally, if I lived in Stirling I guess i would still go!
