Having lived in Warrington all my life, it is you might think, quite unusual for me to be a committed Albion fan.

My commitment to the club began in the 1960's. I used to go on holiday every year with my cousin Dave Goulden (also now an Albion fan) and our parents, and our destination was Aberfeldy in Perthshire. At the time we had to go through Stirling to get to our destination and we noticed the large gates of Annfield proudly displaying the name of Stirling Albion. This stuck with us, and each year part of our holiday was watching for the gates of Stirling Albion.

Anyway for the next twenty odd years I followed the results avidly on Grandstand and in the newspapers and with the introduction of teletext I could even put a few players names together. However one night about five or six years ago when I was boring my mates with how well " The Albion " were doing, I got asked a question which changed my life. " What colour do the Albion play in Alan?" I didn't know. Twenty odd years a supporter and I didn't know the colour of our strip!

Well I had serious Mickey taken, so next day I contacted the club for details, was given Stef Torrance's address, soon had my own strip, and the rest as they say is history.

I now get up to the games about six or seven times a year, have a great time and have made some really good friends.

The Warrington Branch of the supporters club was founded in 1996 and currently has an all time high membership of two, but the name of Stirling Albion is very much alive in the pubs and clubs in our part of town. It is amazing how many people now look for our results, and once a year I organise a coach trip to a game.

My favourite match was 5/4/97 when we beat St Mirren 1-0 with an Andy Paterson free kick. It was the first game I saw us win!

My favourite goal was Tom Tait's long range shot in a cup match at Queen of the South in Jan 98. He scored a similar one in the next round at Perth.

Favourite ground - Palmerston Park, it's the nearest for me.

Favourite player - Alex Bone, he once bought me a pint.

Least favourite ground - Broadwood, it's always snowing.

Least favourite team - Ross County, it's too far.
