Stirling Albion make the trip to the capital on Saturday to play Edinburgh City at Ainslie Park as we seek our first points of the Ladbrokes League 2 campaign.

Kevin Rutkiewicz: “I thought we were excellent at East Fife on Tuesday and got what we deserved out the game. We’ve had a couple of difficult league games but there’s been a coat of paint between the teams and I felt we were the better side at Cowdenbeath.”

Team news: Skipper Ross McGeachie returns after a two-match ban but Kyle Banner is suspended after his red card at Cowdenbeath. The game is likely to come too soon for fellow defenders James Creaney, Jordan McGregor and Gareth Rodger.

Edinburgh City: James McDonaugh’s side lost 5-0 at Cove Rangers in their opening game but beat Brechin City 2-1 at Ainslie Park last weekend. They went down 2-1 to Stenhousemuir at Ochilview in the second round of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup on Tuesday. City have this summer brought in Callum Crane (Livingston), Chris Kane (East Fife), Jonny Court (East Fife), Alex Harris (York City),
Jordan Sinclair (Brechin City), Ryan Adamson (Burntisland Shipyard), Aidan McAdams (Rangers, loan) and Liam Brown (Motherwell)

Past meetings: The last meeting between the sides was a dreary 0-0 draw at Forthbank on the final day of last season. We won 1-0 on our last visit to Ainslie Park in January but lost 3-1 in the capital on this weekend 12 months ago. City won 1-0 in Kevin Rutkiewicz’s first game in charge in October.
