Stirling Albion head for the Locality Hub Bayview Stadium on Tuesday to play East Fife in the second round of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup, kick-off 7.45pm.

Kevin Rutkiewicz: “We were by far the better team in the first half against Cowdenbeath but we didn’t take our chances and ended up coming away with nothing. I don’t think we are far away but we have two tough games now against East Fife and Edinburgh City.”

Team news: Skipper Ross McGeachie is again suspended but Kyle Banner will be available despite his red card at Cowdenbeath. Fellow defenders Gareth Rodger, James Creaney and Jordan McGregor remain on the injury list.

Opponents: East Fife have drawn 1-1 with Clyde and Peterhead in League 1 this season and have a Betfred Cup last-16 tie at home to Rangers on Sunday to look forward to after beating Dundee United and drawing with Hearts in the group stage.

Summer signings: East Fife have brought in Lewis Hunter (Stirling University), Ryan Wallace (Arbroath), Danny Denholm (Arbroath), Jordan Hart (Queen’s Park), Chris Higgins (Ayr United), Stewart Murdoch (Dundee United), Chris Duggan (Raith Rovers), Daniel Church (Celtic, loan).

Past meetings: This is our first visit to Bayview since a 1-0 defeat in February 2016. The most recent meeting of the teams was the following month at Forthbank, when East Fife won 6-0.

Pitch: East Fife have installed an artificial surface since we last played there

In the event of a draw: It’s straight to penalties if the scores are level after 90 minutes

Next round: Third-round ties will be played on the weekend of September 7/8

Referee: Grant Irvine

Admission: Adults £10, Concessions £5

Biscuit: Fans will receive a free Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer (subject to availability!)
