Frazer Wright named assistant

Frazer Wright named assistant

We are pleased to announce that Stirling Albion manager Dave Mackay has appointed Frazer Wright as his assistant for the 2017/18 season.

The 37-year-old replaces Ross Forsyth, who recently moved on but will be back at Forthbank in the future for a well-deserved testimonial match.

Frazer joined from Dumbarton in January of this year and his debut came in a 3-0 home win over Clyde. He made nine appearances in all but missed the last few weeks of the campaign due to a knee injury that requires surgery.

The former Stranraer, Kilmarnock and St Johnstone defender won’t be part of the playing squad in the coming season and will focus on his coaching duties.

Binos boss Mackay said: “I obviously know Frazer from the two of us playing together at St Johnstone but that wasn’t the deciding factor. I considered a few people for the role but felt Frazer was the best candidate and look forward to working with him.

“I’m heading to Poland to do the next part of my UEFA Pro Licence this week at the U21 Championships but will be back for the start of pre-season training on Saturday.”
