We welcome Berwick Rangers to Forthbank on Saturday looking to bounce back from recent defeats to Albion Rovers and Clyde, which leaves us sixth in the table.
Kevin Rutkiewicz: “We didn’t play badly against Clyde last week but our game management was maybe lacking at times. Berwick will come here fighting for their lives but there is no pressure on us so I want the players to enjoy what is left of the season and play with a freedom.”
Team news: Striker Darren Smith returns after a two-match ban but midfielder Danny Jardine will miss his first game of the season after suffering a head injury against Clyde. Skipper Ross McGeachie’s run of 83 consecutive games came to an end last week and he is rated doubtful for the visit of Berwick.
Opponents: Berwick Rangers stunned leaders Peterhead with a 2-0 win at Shielfield in midweek to end a 16-game run without a victory and move five points clear of bottom club Albion Rovers. Johnny Harvey’s team last won away from home against Elgin City in November.
Past meetings: We lost 1-0 at Shielfield on the opening day but were 3-0 winners at Forthbank in November and triumphed 2-1 across the border last month thanks to goals from Dylan Mackin (penalty) and Darren Smith.
